Migra Network [Rede Migra]

Network of researchers from different disciplines of the social sciences, who develop research in the area of migration, with special focus on migrations that have Portugal as a country of destination or origin. Based at Center for Research and Studies in Sociology, CIES-IUL, ISCTE-IUL it was founded in 2013 by two researchers with the main objective to bring together on a common platform researchers of this field.

 

The network is currently made up of about 310 researchers of the 5 continents. More precisely, from 19 countries: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Finland, France, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Norway, Portugal, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom, USA and Wales. 

 

 

 

Objectives

Main objective to bring together on the same platform researchers developing investigation in the field of migration.

Migra Network also has the objective to hold scientific meetings among the Network members and the public in general.

 

It promotes an exchange of information about postgraduate courses, conferences, publications, funding programs, job opportunities, among others.

 

Migra Network includes also government officials and representatives of non-governmental organisations, promoting contact between academic, governamental and private institutions.
